Berger Priyo Pujo Winner: Berger Priyo Pujo is a campaign by Berger Paints that celebrates the best Durga Pujos in Kolkata and West Bengal. Every year, the public can vote for their favourite puja through digital platforms and the top 10 pujas are awarded with prizes and recognition. The campaign also features contests for Alpona (a traditional art form) and Dhunuchi Naach (a traditional dance form) to promote the cultural heritage of the Bengali Pujo celebration.

Berger Priyo Pujo Winner: The winners of Berger Priyo Pujo 2022 are as follows

  • Priyo Pujo: The top 10 pujas of Kolkata as voted by the public are:
    • Santoshpur Lake Pally: This puja is known for its innovative themes and eco-friendly approach. This year, they depicted the theme of “Bhoomi” (Earth) and used recycled materials to create a stunning pandal and idol.
    • Suruchi Sangha: This puja is famous for showcasing the culture and art of different states of India every year. This year, they chose the theme of “Rajasthan” and recreated the majestic forts and palaces of the desert state.
    • Naktala Udayan Sangha: This puja is renowned for its artistic excellence and social messages. This year, they portrayed the theme of “Aparajita” (Unconquerable) and highlighted the struggles and achievements of women in various fields.
    • Hindustan Park: This puja is one of the oldest and most popular pujas in South Kolkata. This year, they presented the theme of “Shakti” (Power) and depicted the different forms and manifestations of Goddess Durga.
    • Badamtala Ashar Sangha: This puja is a crowd-puller for its creative designs and concepts. This year, they displayed the theme of “Prakriti” (Nature) and used natural elements like bamboo, jute, clay, and flowers to create a beautiful pandal and idol.
    • Sreebhumi Sporting Club: This puja is a hotspot for celebrities and politicians. This year, they showcased the theme of “Shrestha Bharat” (Glorious India) and paid tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs of the country.
    • Tridhara Sammilani: This puja is a pioneer in thematic pujas and social causes. This year, they illustrated the theme of “Ananya” (Unique) and celebrated the diversity and unity of India.
    • Bosepukur Sitala Mandir: This puja is a winner of several awards and accolades. This year, they exhibited the theme of “Chandramukhi” (Moon-faced) and depicted the beauty and grace of Goddess Durga.
    • Ahiritola Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity: This pujo is a heritage pujo that dates back to 1940. This year, they displayed the theme of “Maa” (Mother) and honoured the role and contribution of mothers in society.
    • Babubagan Club: This puja is a regular contender for the best puja awards. This year, they presented the theme of “Alo” (Light) and used LED lights and mirrors to create a dazzling effect.
  • Alpona Contest: The winners of this contest are the artists who created the best Alponas for their respective pujas. The winners are:
    • Saptarshi Das from Santoshpur Lake Pally: He created a stunning Alpona depicting the Earth as a mother holding her child in her arms.
    • Riya Chakraborty from Suruchi Sangha: She created a colourful Alpona showcasing the folk art and motifs of Rajasthan.
    • Arpita Roy from Naktala Udayan Sangha: She created a powerful Alpona portraying the faces of women achievers from different fields.
    • Subrata Das from Hindustan Park: He created a magnificent Alpona depicting the ten arms of Goddess Durga holding different weapons.
    • Sourav Mondal from Badamtala Ashar Sangha: He created a beautiful Alpona using natural materials like leaves, flowers, seeds, and grains.
    • Ankita Banerjee from Sreebhumi Sporting Club: She created a patriotic Alpona featuring the national emblem, flag, map, and symbols of India.
    • Abhijit Sarkar from Tridhara Sammilani: He created an amazing Alpona representing the different cultures, religions, languages, and cuisines of India.
    • Rajesh Das from Bosepukur Sitala Mandir: He created a splendid Alpona depicting the moon phases and the lunar goddess.
    • Sudeshna Ghosh from Ahiritola Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity: She created a touching Alpona showing the bond between a mother and her child.
    • Debajyoti Chatterjee from Babubagan Club: He created a dazzling Alpona using geometric shapes and patterns.

  • Dhunuchi Naach Contest: The winners of this contest are the dancers who performed the best Dhunuchi Naach for their respective pujas. The winners are:
    • Ritwik Chatterjee from Santoshpur Lake Pally: He performed a thrilling Dhunuchi Naach with four Dhunuchis in his hands and two on his head.
    • Neha Sharma from Suruchi Sangha: She performed a graceful Dhunuchi Naach with two Dhunuchis in her hands and one on her waist.
    • Ananya Das from Naktala Udayan Sangha: She performed a fierce Dhunuchi Naach with three Dhunuchis in her hands and one in her mouth.

    • Rajat Das from Bosepukur Sitala Mandir: He performed a marvellous Dhunuchi Naach with six Dhunuchis in his hands and one on his neck.
    • Shreya Ghosh from Ahiritola Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samity: She performed a heartwarming Dhunuchi Naach with two dhunuchis in her hands and one on her lap.
