G20 Film Festival: Ray’s ‘Pather Panchali‘ to open G20 Film Festival on Wednesday.
Satyajit Ray‘s “Pather Panchali” will be the opening film of the G20 Film Festival, which aims to celebrate and showcase the vibrant and collaborative partnership that exists between the G20 and the invited countries in the field of cinema.
Organized by the India International Center (IIC) and the G20 Secretariat of the Ministry of External Affairs, the festival will be inaugurated by veteran actor Victor Banerjee and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant.
“In line with the President of India’s theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (One Earth, One Family, One Future), the original award-winning feature films reflect the issues and concerns of each country, address questions of identity, connect with memories, and social policy, etc. IIC director KN Srivastava said in a statement.
Sixteen international award-winning feature films, including Australia’s “We Are Still Here”, Brazil’s “Ana Untitled”, Japan’s “The Aristocrats”, Mexico’s “Mezquita’s Heart” and South Korea’s “Decision to Leave” will be displayed. Festival.
Several titles will be presented by Ambassadors/High Commissioners of G20 countries.
Admission to all screenings is open to all and free. The screening will take place at CD Deshmukh Auditorium, IIC.
