• Physiology or Medicine: Svante Paabo for his work on understanding how modern-day people evolved from extinct ancestors.
• Physics: Alain Aspect, John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger for their experiments in quantum mechanics.
• Chemistry: Carolyn Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and Barry Sharpless for discovering reactions which let molecules snap together to create new compounds and offer insight into cell biology.
• Literature: Annie Ernaux for “the courage and clinical acuity” of her autobiographical novels.
• Peace: Ales Byalyatski, Russian rights group Memorial and Ukraine’s Center for Civil Liberties for their human rights work during the Ukraine War.
• Economics: Ben Bernanke, Douglas Diamond and Philip Dybvig for their contributions to the understanding of financial crises and monetary policy.
